WHAT IS HOOP SCIENCE?
THERE IS POWER IN A SPIN: Betty uses the hoop as a vortex and centrifuge. Just as Betty's favorite superhero, Wonder Woman, could transform herself during a spin, there is proof, in the laws of physics and sacred geometry that we can all transform ourselves. If you have proper alignment, core mechanics and intention to heal, you can use the spin to heal on all levels. First Betty uses mind body centering techniques to get into the hoops centrifuge. This allows stored energy, trauma, to be released. Then Betty teaches how to use the hoop's vortex to pull energy in and receive wisdom and healing. Once the hooper has achieved this, they can actually become the center of their universe. Betty then guides them into highly conscious, zen states of becoming the spin. The hooper is now not in gravity, G-Force but moving in C-Force. Rumi the famous poet and Whirling Dervish Dancer has written much about this.
ABOUT HOOP CORE: Hoop Core has improved thousands of lives around the world. Techniques from sports science, physics, structural analysis, modification and correction, as well as various types of yoga, meditation and shamanic healing are used.
HOOP RESEARCH: The Betty Hoop: A specially weighted, sized and flexy hula hoop, as a biofeedback tool. It is proven to be the safest and most effective hoop on the market. It's flex hugs the body as it spins which makes it stay up easier. For years, Betty tested all sizes and weights of dozens of hoops sold on the market, on hundreds of people. For the standard adult ranging from 110- 220 pounds, this is what she determined. If the hoop was too light or too small or big, the person would have to move their body just to keep momentum in the hoop. They would thrust and torque their body forward, away from the spine, creating hyper-extension and compression in the back and neck. They would overcompensate for their current bad posture, putting excess strain on the body and in some cases, creating injury. If the hoops were too heavy (over 2 pounds) the person would feel pain in the gut, back and knees. She could see that the excess weight was torquing the spine, ribs, and knees. People would comment that they felt as if they were being punched in the gut and soon, get big bruises.
STRUCTURAL RESEARCH: Since 1998, Betty has been teaching Hoop Core. After the first year of teaching hundreds of people of all ages and abilities, she created the Top 5 in 5 minutes. This groups together the top 5 most common structural misalignments in posture and motion. With her XRay vision and knowledge, she can quickly target and correct each person. Her focus is to retrain the mind - body to move into alignment and from it's center. This removes most of the stored pain and stress and brings a deep connection to the Mind- Body - Earth consciousness. This is true core power. And everyone can achieve it!
ENERGY RESEARCH: Betty's time teaching Anusara and Kundalini Yoga, rock climbing, living in an Ashram, practicing massage therapy and Reiki, have developed her intuitive power and connection to Earth Medicine. Connecting to the 4 elements in nature, connects one to their true nature. She created 4 Rhythm Hoop Dance in 1998, in hopes to share with everyone who lived in cities and were blocked from experiencing its healing powers. Earth (strength) Water (fluidity) Fire (passion) Air (conscious expansion) Living in Aspen, she still found dozens who had little true connection to these rhythms.
PROVING HOOP CORE WORKS: Betty taught athletes how to use breath in synch with their movements, to keep their body strong and flexible, which boosted their sports performance. She taught women in abuse recovery clinics how regain their personal space and power. She taught hundreds of kids and adults in NYC, soon after 9/11, how to release trauma and regain hope and joy.
HOOP PHYSICS: Betty developed movements which use; acceleration, centrifugal force, gravity, the body's vertical plane, 3 main axis points of the body, core isolation and integration, Lorentz' Theory of Transformation and work within the vortex and centrifuge. It also increases blood flow, organ detox, calmness, connection to nature, muscle/mind fluidity, weight-loss, confidence and a radiant glow.
WHY IS BAD POSTURE SO BAD? Bad posture does not go away, it gets worse if not corrected. When the body is out of alignment and off balance, some muscles will fatigue and tear, others will barely even be used. Fascia will get tight, dry and twist the whole system out of place. Muscles will pull bones away from their proper place, the nervous system will work extra hard to circulate blood, oxygen and responses from the brain and organs will get compressed and lose their ability to detox. The mind will even become misaligned from ones potential, clarity and true nature. This reduces overall vitality in you and your life. And if you think your daily activities or taking a yoga, zumba or a fitness class is therapeutic, think again. Most teachers of fitness trends are not interested nor trained in basic body mechanics to target and correct every individual.
