Let’s face it, we live in a time where every woman wants to feel liberated. And society knows the recipe for making money on trends. Step 1; get a pole installed in your bedroom, step 2- get pole burn on your thighs trying to slide upside down while holding on and seductively smiling. There’s nothing wrong with this. I have found my self on many poles having fun and being too silly to ever -ever have sex appeal. I guess some people are better at being the axis than being the wheel. The first time I spun around the pole, I really connected to the circular force. This is what it must feel like to be a hula hoop. I got dizzy but appreciated the strength and grace that it took to stay on. I then found my self face down on the floor with a bump on my forehead, my legs twisted up and the whole class doubled over laughing. And that was when I was really trying.

So I find that I am safer spinning something rather than being spun. Many would agree of the similarities both trendy workouts offer. From core strength to upper body toning to feeling sexy, both workouts bring out our sultry moves.

Next week is a fundraiser for one of my friends. A few forms of entertainment and warm ups will be offerd. I will give a hoop demo to 20 pro cyclists as a way to warm up the hips. Another girl will offer her variation of pole dance. I think I will play it safe and stay inside the hoop…
