The Hoop Dance Workout -trend or tradition

I remember back in 2003, convincing the folks at Gaiam that Hoop Dance will be the next hottest trend.They signed me for 2 years and we developed a great collapsible hoop and program. Today, Ellen Degeneres had Marisa Tomei – a celeb spokesperson for a hula hoop workout by guess who-Gaiam. After our contract ended in 05, I continued to teach worldwide. My methods involve exercise physiology, yoga and dance.I use traditional techniques to offer a total mind-body workout.

Since Gaiam decided to keep the terms I created Hoop Dance and The Dance Hoop, my new titles are this. My new collapsible, padded hoop is called The Betty Hoop – hip gear to go & my method is called Flex & Flow. This describes all my programs such as Hoop Warriors (for kids) & 4 Rhythm Hoop Dance! Flex & Flow retrains the body to isolate and integrate specific muscles. This develops core strength and muscle tone, burns fat quickly, increases range of motion and prevents injury. SO while looking for a fun, low impact Hoop Dance routine, make sure you choose one that offers a  few traditional moves from sport training, yoga or therapy.

    If you are going to lift weights every day, you should alternate muscle groups. A trainer that worked with me awhile ago said it was best to do pushing exercises one day and pulling exercises another. I prefer to do legs and chest one day, then arms, shoulders and abs the next. Also, try to shift the exercises around a bit.
