How to Hula Hoop
Ever wonder why you could hoop as a child but you can’t for the life of you , figure out why you can’t hoop as an adult? The answer is easy. You are only as good as your gear. You wouldn’t try to squeeze into the pair of jeans you wore when you were 6 years old, so why do you think you can put a small, light weight hoop around your waist and spin it successfully. As you get older, you get taller and heavier. You take up more space, so you need more space to move around in. That’s all. My measurements of how I fit people with the right sized hoop include hieght, weight and spinal tension.
There are companies who sell dangerously heavy hoops. I have documentation from many who have had physical related injuries from these hoops. The safest weight for adults is 2-3 pounds. No More. I should know because I have lived my life in the hoop since 1998. I used to hoop for 6 hours a day a few days a week. (I had a lot of time in my 20′s to travel to concerts and dance for hours.) I have tried every hoop on the market and am told by hundreds that my hoops are the safest and most effective.
It is important to find the right circumference and weight for your proportions. People over 400 pounds have hooped beautifully with my hoops. I have a size chart on my site which can help you decide. Most importantly, once you step in to a proper hoop, you will see how easy it is to learn.
